On-Campus Internships

Professional internships at Northwest Nazarene University are available to current and recent graduates. Various professional enterprises at NNU provide real-life experiences, on the job training, and personal growth for students as an extension of their education. These internships are directed to the student's career goals. All internships are for credit, but may also have a paid stipend depending on the duties and the department.

All applicants must provide a complete packet (to the contact person identified in the posting) to be considered for any internship which includes:

  • Complete resume
  • Personal statement of career goals
  • Current transcripts (unofficial unless official is requested)
  • Minimum of two references who can be contacted

Following the completion of the internship the student must complete an evaluation of the internship.

Analyst – I-Banking, M&A, Trading, Hedge Funds Internship

Description
Our internship is being held in Verbier, Switzerland. The research collected by the intern will be used to assist the faculty and officers of Swiss Finance, which is a highly reputed institution of higher learning in finance and business and holds summer training programs in the Switzerland. The programs are designed to help college undergraduate students, graduate students including MBAs, as well as recent graduates, secure the best possible job opportunities in investment banking, hedge funds, strategy consulting and general management.

More about Intern's role:

  • The intern's role would be to assist by performing detailed quantitative research so that the faculty members can focus on offering Swiss Finance students the competitive advantage the students need in order to find great career opportunities on Wall Street and in other competitive industries around the world.
  • The intern's research will cover topics such as M&A, business strategy, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, interview skills for investment banking, Wall Street culture and negotiation strategies.
As an Intern, you will:
  • Perform valuation analyses using various methodologies
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyze the impacts of various capital structures and potential M&A transactions
  • Prepare presentation materials covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance. While a background in finance or accounting is not required, you should be comfortable with numerical computation and have a demonstrable interest in working in financial services.

As a Business Development Intern your primary objective is to support Business Development Officers with community events and branch activities. Skills and Qualifications

  1. Assist with set-up and take-down for all events.
  2. Provide Business Development with support during events, business partners, and branch activities.
  3. Assist with the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the ICCU money machine and green machine.
  4. Interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  5. Communicate and promote ICCU to others while educating them about our products and services.
  6. Ensure satisfaction to every individual you encounter through courteous, accurate and efficient service.
  7. Maintain a clean storage unit.
  8. Run various errands such as; buying supplies, delivering tickets, branch deliveries, etc.
  9. Be a part of a growing and dynamic team. 
  10. Opportunities to grow with Idaho Central Credit Union upon completion of internship.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or GED and current enrollment in college coursework. Accuracy in all areas.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine member needs and promote Credit Union services.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union records.
  • Willing to assist the Business Development team with all events as far as gathering all items needed for each event, event set up, event take down and help run the event items that we have on location.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule with evening and weekend hours, must have a valid driver’s license to operate our Green Machine.
  • Willing to drive Green Machine as needed to and from events.
  • Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on details, attendance, quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of credit union and member records at all times.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.)
  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 30-50 pounds of office supplies (money machine, PA system, computer paper, mail, etc.).
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
